Deckard is the "good-guy", his mission is to stop the escaped
replicants. It is hard not to feel badly for him as he is getting the crap beat
out of him by a replicant. But, have no fear, he is the good guy and will win in
the end.
Roy. Good guy, or Bad guy? Maybe both. The duality of this character makes
him likeable even though he is one of the bad guys.
The
conflict requirements were met in the movie Blade Runner. Deckard had to stop
the 4 escaped replicants that had been created by the Tyrell Corporation. This
typical Good vs. Evil type of story-line was peppered with a healthy dose of
violence, an essential ingredient in the 90's good movie recipe.
