Hamlet is one of those canonized texts that you absolutely cannot get rid of, and for good reason, too.  Shakespeare works, and especially Hamlet, are classics.  What would an English class be without him?  I remember during the class discussion Professor anderson posed the question "is Hamlet still valid in our time? Is it worth it to read him again?"  I answer that with an emphatic "Absolutely!"  The depth at which human nature is explored in Shakespearean texts is beyond compare, and that subject, to me, never gets old.  It is that ancient puzzle of man that has yet to be solved, and the issues and life situations that arise from different aspects of human nature--jealousy, greed, love, hate, murder, betrayal, hubris, loyalty, friendship, violence--are still relevent today because we still, despite technology, science, and religion, encounter these human emotions and are left to sort out the pieces of the (sometimes devastating) effects of them.
