I have a degree in engineering and I minored in English. So I'm all over the place academically. Taking this course as a part-time student to explore a newfound interest in film.

Recommendation

I recently started checking out silent comedies from the 1920s. It's amazing to see how they told stories with no audible dialogue. It has got me thinking about film and storytelling in a very different way.

Chaplin is certainly a classic. But Buster Keaton especially has some of the most incredible and creative stunts, especially considering the technology at the time. Forget digital effects: even editing was a severely limited process. It was all props, physical dexterity and timing.
