This image is perfect for this article. It shows an advertisement that is a good exaggeration of what magazines really portray but do not literally say. It shows young girls who seem happy about becoming anorexic because "Boys only like skinny girls." This seems absurd when we see it, but after reading the article, it is obvious that yes many girls do feel this way and consider skinny to be beautiful. When a great deal of my friends feel unattractive or if a guy does not like them they usually say it is because "they are fat." This image is a great portrayal of not only the logic of American culture but shows how young an age children start to be convinced of these ideals.
