I think this video is an accurate representation of dumbing down our society. The video shows a boy jumping off a balcony onto trash cans. Clearly a terrible idea. His influence for this stupid action most likely came from television and our society's fixation on seeing people do stuoid and risdiculous things. Shows like MTV's jackass focus on self mutilation and humiliation just for a laugh. I'm not saying that its not funny because I laugh every single time Johnny Knoxville falls off a ramp in fat man suit, but the stuff that makes us laugh today is not nearly as thoughful and witty as it used to be.

My second video pictures two boys attempting to smash a watermelon with their heads. The boys are violently hitting the watermelon time after time counting how many strikes it takes to crush it. The fact that these teenage boys have that much time on their hands to come up with that idea and videotape it says soemthing about theyouth in our society.
