Hi! I am Melissa Talamantes, a freshman at The University of Texas at Austin, and struggling to make it to the end of the first semester. I am from San Angelo, Texas, and while here in Austin I am living in Kinsolving dormatory shuffling fourteen hours of classes. These classes include Latin, Biology, Communication Science Disorders, and a computer based English (which has helped me understand the world of computers more clearly). When I am not at school or studying late at night I enjoy just sitting in my room, relaxing, and watching the latest trash on the various talk shows. I also enjoy participating in many different sports. While in high school I was active in volleyball, basketball, track, and softball. Next semester I hope to get involved in an intermural softball team here at UT. Overall, I am just trying to get used to college life away from hometown family and friends, and meet brilliant new people here at UT. As I hope to major in English--Pre-Law, school is my number one priority and I hope that procrastination, grades, and 6th Street do not get in my way! I have also participated in a summary group for my english class which is linked to paper. week four
