E306 "Paper" # 2
Draft due Friday Oct 14th
Revision due Friday Oct 21st.

For this assignment you are to construct a hypertextual evaluation of the film "The Accused." Begin with the template in our teacher folder to create the hypertext. The project itself should include the equivalent of four typerwritten pages and should use images from the film to further the discussion.

The argument of the presentation should follow the criteria/match model detailed in chapter 13 of Writing Arguments. Make sure to develop the criteria completely, including examples from other films, before moving on to the match section of the project. The match section should use examples from "The Accused" to support its points.

The paper should follow the criteria match model, but I'd like the criteria that you use to discuss more than the acting, cinematography, etc. We'll try to sharpen our focus on the issues in the movie and the way these are raised and dealt with in the film should become part of your evaluation. The handling of the rape scene, for instance, raises points about the perspective used. The switching from the crowd's to the victim's perspective in the scene has an influence on our perceptions and can be evaluated as a good way or a bad way of dealing with the issue.

So, the project should focus the type of movie you are evaluating and discuss criteria which contain ethical as well as cinematic components. The match sections of the project should discuss examples from the film and the way they respond to these issue related criteria. You should also address opposition views. Let me know if you have any questions, etc.
