Women also lose many opportunities of employment that do not allow women to earn the same amount of money that men have the opportunity to earn. If given the same opporunity, this will enable women, as a whole, to increase the amount of pay that will close pay gap among men and women as a whole. Females are generally given stereotypical roles of occupations such as teachers, cashiers, and bookkeepers. One of the main reasons why women enter these fields is because the commitment, both in time and education, is less which enables them to spend time with family or to take care of other responsibilities. These occupations on a whole do not compare in salary to that of a doctor or a lawyer. Also, jobs are not open to some women and only to men and generally these occupations pay a substantially bigger amount of money. For example in the military:
