Miss America's Image

Many women all over this country strive to be Miss America. Little girls grow up seeing Miss America as the ideal woman, hoping to one day follow in her foot steps. With little girls having such big dreams, does the pageant display a positive image of American women? Many argue that it does because it provides scholarships, prizes, and recognition to the women competing. However, overall the Miss America pageant does not live up to all its expectations. In addition, the pageant displays a negative image of women. Women in today's society should be seen as bright, intelligent, and independent. The Miss America pageant does not portray women in this way.
