The United States Government has taken on the role of censorer by means of legislation. The Communications Decency Act has taken over where parents once decided what was decent for their children to view. The government is now telling them what they can watch. Though some aspects of the act are beneficial to "the people" there is still the issue of who should be censoring what "the people's" children see. There is even a section in the CDA that declares the government's encouragement for further freedom of communications technology. This section portrays the over-protective government as the hypocrates that they are.
