By Jessica Marcoux

In 1996 President Clinton distributed manuals on how to legally enforce school uniform policies to over 16,000 school districts. Important questions are raised when such a sweeping change from the status quo is being considered. Should schools adopt uniform policies? What are the implications of a uniform policy on students? This web page will attempt to answer these questions and more by addressing common arguments that are made in support of uniforms from a perspective that discourages the uniform policy. The following links outline certain areas of discussion concerning uniform policies.
