In this world of rapid human growth and limited resources, people are discovering the necessity of limiting the amount of trash they produce. One well known way to do this is to recycle. Notably, there are some who argue that recycling has a lot of negatives and is therefore not the best solution to the waste management crisis (Holusha, F5)*. However, most people agree that recycling is a good thing and it works. Even governments agree. The proof of this can be seen in the majority of cities that are actively trying to solve their solid waste disposal problems are doing so by turning to recycling programs.

This web site examines the innovative Pay-As-You-Throw program being implemented in cities nationwide (specifically in Austin, Texas) as a solution to the very real crisis in solid waste management.
