[Revision 2]: After countless re-recordings, here it is. I shortened all of the song samples as to bring a little balance between the various types of segments (commentary, interviews, music). I shortened the lead out and completely rerecorded the introduction commentary. I do agree that the original was way too strong, and certainly out of place. I tried to go for a more relaxed tone that didn't sound like an infomercial, and I also cut out some of the musically unimportant details from the first take. More importantly, I made a personal note in the intro, which I think added to its meaning (at least for me). I experimented with meshing the various samples differently for better flow. I wish I knew how many hours this last revision took. I was unfortunate enough to have the technical difficulty of a corrupted audacity project file... meaning that I had to import the mp3 version of my first draft, chop it up, remove noise in some places where I had meshed, and tediously remove the parts I wanted to replace. It was very time consuming, but I think I made genuine progress with this draft and I'm proud of it. It is a little bit longer than the first, but that's because I added some commentary and an interview; as I said, I shortened all of the song samples.
