One last thing I noticed

In watchmen, at the dawn of Veidt's new era, (21st century), Doc Manhattan disappears, much like the nuclear tensions between Russia and the United States have been dying down. Notice the picture of the  mushroom cloud when Doc Manhattan leaves Adrian in their final conversation.  Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons showed remarkable foresight.
