Bob Dylan podcast

My podcast was on one of my favorite artists, Bob Dylan. Since Dylan has been creating and performing music for decades and has many literary aspects to his work, I focused mostly on his early years. In those years, he was one of the few musicians to write music with meaningful lyrics, and he created a style that was completely his own. I would still like to fine tune many parts of my pocast, such as the volume, and the connections between parts. I would also like to try to incorporate an interview with a Dylan fan, or with somebody who is educated on an artist that Bob Dylan influenced. I will also probably cut down some of the interviews or other clips already in my podcast. It was difficult to choose and focus on one aspect of Bob Dylan, hopefully the central message is clear.

Sarah, the opening of the
Sarah, the opening of the podcast works well. The duration is sharp and the intro is strong. I like that you get to a focus quickly. There is a bit of technical echo in the middle. The move to the interview clip is a bit jumbled. It seems like the version here is not organized completely yet. The Time They are a Changin discussion makes nice points and does a good job of bringing in a clip to reinforce your points—I would think about shortening and focusing the clip. Blowin in the Wind does a nice job of putting forth your opinion and using the Dylan quote—I think this is the strongest segment—about the right amount of narration, music, and interview—you can probably cut out the self-referential pieces in narration and set up the point about anti-american possibilities a bit more. The section on influences might be introduced a bit more directly—and perhaps the Dylan clip shortened a bit—the Neil Young clips are about the right duration and the discussion there is woven together nicely. You have quite a bit about the influences, which makes me wonder about whether this might be the main focus of the podcast. The closing does a nice job of summing things up, so I think revisiting the earlier pieces and thinking about the overall angle will make things tighter. Nice work.
