Love and the British Invasion

Here is my first draft about the love songs and the British Invasion. I compare three songs- "Girl" by The Beatles, "You Really Got Me" by The Kinks, and "Brown Sugar" by The Rolling Stones. There are a lot of things I want to still do with this podcast, and several things I want to explore in more depth, but the basic structure and argument I am seeking to make is present.

Nice intro. I was wondering

Nice intro. I was wondering if cutting one or two of the samples might kick things off more quickly. I also like the eventual focus on the 3 bands/songs. I wonder if the transition to the 3 might be rewritten to touch on the points you take up on the discussion of the three--just some trimming and focus maybe. I think your work with the three is strong. I would consider a different way of writing up to the interview snippets. Perhaps pull out the main point and use some hint about that--paraphrasish--as a lead--the stalker point about the kinks, for instance, might be lead into with something about the relationship b/n music and lyrics. I also think there may be more work to do excavating Brown Sugar. The racial stuff gets touched on, but I don't feel satisfied that it is fully explored--this might lead to a bit of a stronger conclusion about the "love" genre--this might also weave back to the transition after the intro. Lots of good stuff here.

Good Job!

I really enjoyed listening to your podcast. I thought the whole concept of exploring love songs from the British Invasion was really unique and you executed it well. Also, "Girl" is one of my favorite songs of all time so I think you made a good choice in including that one. Overall, Great Job!
