About You

What is your current favorite print text and what makes it worth a look?

I recently really enjoyed Lady Audley's Secret, which I had to read for a British Literature Class.

I mainly thought it was a worthwhile book, because it preserved the gothic and romantic quality of this time period. I also enjoy books with irony and suspense.

What is your current favorite non-print text and what makes it worth a look?

Alfred Hitchcock's - Psycho

I only recently watched it. I HATE horror films. But I love the composition of this film, and again I love the irony and suspense. It wasn't bloody and scary like "Saw" or "Ring" may be, but the creepy element was definitely there. I couldn't stop thinking and talking about it far after I watched it, and that's when you know you just watched a good film.

What is the best part of being a student of English?

reading and analyzing stories and books I would have otherwise never have read.
