I'm using Camtasia 8 on a PC. F9 pauses and resumes a recording, and F10 stops a recording. There are an unlimited amount of tracks available to build a recording with. To manually add an animation, you move the play symbol to where you want the animation to be, and then click on "Visual Properties" -> "Select Visual media to edit properties" -> "Add animation", and then make the properties of the animation what you want them to be. A callout won't appear if it is on a track that's below the video track. Any media can have visual animations added to it. You can change the zoom level of the canvas by using the drop-down menu above the canvas.

Don’t use SmartFocus

Select media where you want with the playhead, then go to visual properties and select animation so it goes where you put the playhead.

Layer the callouts above the main media video or else it disappears behind it.

Extend the sides of the image or video in the canvas (with your cursor), into the grey area so that the picture seen still in the visible canvas, is zoomed in.

option+cmd+2 = STOP

shift+cmd+2 = PAUSE

How do you zoom in or out on the canvas?

Double touch zooming or edit the canvas dropdown menu.

How do you add your own zooms and pans to a video?

Depending on what exactly you're doing you could drag and drop the effect from the effect toolbar and then proceed to edit the zoom or final frame that you want it at.

Click the gear button and edit the different properties of the selected annotation

Add the lower/rasie volume effect to the timeline or edit the clip volume itself.

 

To pause on a Mac, you press shift, command, and 2. 

You can change the canvas zoom using the drop box or placing your mouse inside the canvas and scrolling up or down. 

To add your own zooms and pans, you can drag it from effects.

To open the properties pane to change the look of an annotation you click the gear button. 

The blank one is the most flexible because it allows you to do whatever you want. 

You can fade your audio in or out in the transitions tab and click audio fade in/out

The hotkey F9 is the functional equivalent of hitting the "Record" button. F10 stops recording in leiu of navigating the taskbar.

There are three - the clip bin, canvas, and timeline.

3. How do you manually add an animation?

Select the media, position the playehad where you want to add the animation, and click the "add animation" button (or the hotkey "Z") - the most important part of this is that the media must be selected or an error message will be shown.
 
4. How might the layers in the timeline prevent a callout from appearing on the canvas?
 
If the callout "lived" on a track below the video, it will not show up on the video because it's technically layered under the video.
 
5. Which media on the timeline can have visual animations added to it?
 
Any media that is present on the timeline can have visual animations added to it.
 
6. Name one way to change the zoom level of the canvas.
 
Drag the handles on the corners or edges.

A: There is a dropdown bar right next to the setting button.

A: Click the settings button once you have selected your media and it gives the option to zoom in and out, alongside the ability to pan your media image/video.

A: Select annotations in the upper left panel right under media. From there it gives you many options to edit annotations.

Which is the most flexible annotation?

A: Cursers and clicks have the most options for editing.

A: Select “transitions” in the upper left panel right under “annotations.” From there it gives you the option to fade in and/or out the audio.

1) When using the pausing the recording, press up+command+2.


2) Click the drop down menu on the side and click the percentage in which you prefer to edit


3) When adding a zoom or pan to a video, go to the animations tab and click blank and lay it over the video clip. Next, grab the border of the clip and resize to your preferance.



4) Simply click the gear button on the right hand side of the screen and click the general properties tab.



5) The most flexible animation is the blank annonation.


6) Drag the fade in or out over the clip you want to fade

To zoom in or out of the canvas,  you can move your cursor over the screen of the video and scroll in or out in addition there is a box near the screen that allows you to choose what percentage you would like your video to be at.

To add a zoom or a pan to a video, you can look under the animation tab and insert them to your vidoe. However, Smart Focus might be a good place to start.

To open the properties tab to change the look of annotations, click the gear tab near the canvas of your video,

You can change many things including, color, opacity, shape, etc. 

Try to avoid using red annotations because that color normally doesn't come out very well in videos.

Also, use the "squint test," when you squint your eyes, if the things that you notice are not what you want the viewer to notice, you may need to edit your video more.

The most flexible annotation is a blank animation. According to the tutorial, it allows you to do almost anything that you want.

Under the transitions tab, there is a fade audio in and out. 

Also,  under the audio tab you can raise or lower the volume.

You can manually add animations to a track by 1. clicking the desired track 2.  drag the playhead where you want the animation to start 3. click the visual properties tab 4.  click add animation

The layers of the timeline can prevent a callout from being seen if a layer of video is placed above the callout layer.  Layers placed first are in the front and layers placed afterwards are in the background. 

All media on the timeline can have visual animations added to it. 

You can change the zoom by clicking the drop down menu or by scrolling with your mouse.

Select the media on the timeline. You must position the playhead at the location you want to add the animation.  Click the add animation button or use hot key Z. The media must be selected in order to add animation

 Call has to be layered on the timeline just they are layered on a canvas. If it was lived on a track

below the video it would not show up because it is layered underneath the video clip.
