American Red Cross PSA/Tutorial Video

Natural disasters are occurring at such an alarming rate all across America! The events range from drought, earthquakes, extreme heat, floods, hurricanes, landslides and debris flow, severe weather, thunderstorms and lightning, tornadoes, tsunamis, volcanoes, wildfires and winter storms & extreme cold.

Natural disasters affect thousands of people every year globally. You should be informed of what the risks are and begin to prepare to protect yourself, your family and your community. Awareness of impending disasters and knowing how to protect your families comes with preparation. Proper training before a hazardous event will equip you with solutions for aid and recovery.

Make plans before the disaster occurs! The small things you can do to prepare before an event is assembling supply kits and developing an emergency plan. Knowledge of the disaster will affect your preparation and will require specific decisions. Learning about the specific disasters will better prepare you for each emergency and could save your life.

I employ you to find ways to volunteer and ways to assist and solicit preparedness in your community.

If you live in the Triangle Area of North Carolina, please contact Durham, Orange or Wake County American Red Cross. The categories needing assistance are: disaster volunteers, blood drive volunteers, digital advocates, group and employee volunteers, nurse volunteers, and youth volunteers.

Volunteer through a local chapter. Thank you!

The music does well at setting up the significance of the piece. In the opening callout change it to read We implore you. . . . I wonder if the text might be trimmed a bit so that it can be transitioned from a bit more quickly. I wonder about trimming the clip with Jamie Lee Curtis. Maybe edit it a bit to cut back and forth between some callouts and Curtis's advice. Some of the advice might be broken out as bullets and delivered with text to tighten it up. Maybe this strategy can be helpful with the types of disasters section. COuld specific advice be linked to each of the disasters? Would it make more sense to limit those? Or maybe that can be moved to the beginning to set up the piece and show how key the red cross is. In spots the transitions might be smoothed and the audio levels adjusted. The close out does well at calling people to action. In the credits change apart to be a part. Nice work.
