"The Breakfast Brothers" Mashup

I wanted my mash up to be funny and different and weave modern elements of film and music with older elements of film.

The technical elements of the project were the hardest for me. I have never done a mash up before so it has been difficult to perfectly line up voices, and also incorporate how important the creative elements of the project are and to make sure that that is being communicated effectively. In my mind, they are both equally important.

I chose the Breakfast Club and Step Brothers because I think that they are both funny, interesting movies and I wanted to combine them. These films are similar because they both provoke humor through immaturity and events that would not otherwise be funny, but are given the context and the situation.

"Step Brothers" is a film that is about two adults that are extremely immature and "The Breakfast Club" is a film that is about high school students that engage in ridiculous behavior and want to be mature beyond their years.

The juxtaposition of the idea that the two characters in "Step Brothers" could also fit into the world of "The Breakfast Club" is what i wanted to explore.

I layered pieces from "Step Brothers" on top of "The Breakfast Club" trailer and wanted to make it seem like the characters from "Step Brothers" might actually be students in a high school.

I like the mix of films. Some of the audio editing got me a bit confused in the way it drifted a bit from the Breakfast Club trailer and varied the volume levels and textures. There might be some fine tuning to be had in the synching or in segments where speech and visuals are not lined up. My big question has to do with the trailer underneath the Step Brothers visuals. I'm feeling like it kind of wants to be a recut trailer for the breakfast club with new audio but also a mashup and that it's coming down somewhere in the middle.
