Using resolutions and laws that have already been passed as examples, new resolutions based on these can be made. Laws which force colleges to investigate all reported cases of rape and take action against rapists, laws making colleges responsible for informing their students of the campus's safety record, and laws allowing victims of rape to feel secure in reporting and prosecuting rape cases are all significant changes which can be adopted by colleges who have not already. Because such laws and proposals have worked very successfully in other colleges, like the ones described in California, the areas which adopt similar laws are sure to receive the same success. With a proposal such as this proposal many positive actions will result such as a firm definition of rape by university heads, a protection of victims' rights of privacy, and an in-depth prosecution of convicted rapists. A form of action like this proposal must be taken not only for the countless victims who have been wronged in the past but for the innocent college students with trust and compassion who may become victims in the future.
