Campus Crime: Rape on Campus

Rape on Campus by Melissa D. Talamantes

My paper involves the compelling problem that many universities and colleges across the country refuse to face. This problem is that of rape. Much of the problem is that many universities are not handling reported rape cases with professionalism and the victims are the ones who are made to suffer. Reported cases are many times "pushed under the rug" in order for the university to look better, victim's rights of privacy are violated, and students are not being properly informed of the danger of rape on their campus. The following are the different aspects that my paper presents involving the problem of rape in college campuses today.

A. Rape Introduction

B. Amy's Story of Rape

C. Rape Controversy within Fraternities

D. Solutions to Ending Rape on Campuses

1. Acknowledge Rape Exists and Punish Rapists Properly
2. Make the Student Body Aware of Rape on Campus
3. Protect Victim's Rights of Privacy
E. Conclusion - Adopt such laws and proposals to ensure the end of rape in the future.
