Your assignmnet is to write a research proposal paper. The paper can follow the
general three part model suggested in Writing arguments chapter 14, that is, it
should discuss a problem, a solution, and the justification of that solution. In
addition, the paper should accomplish the following:
1. Use research and citations to outline a problem of importance to society or to
a particular interest group.
2. Show why there is pressing need to solve the problem.
3. Propose a potential solution to the problem.
4. Justify that solution; discuss just how that solution will help alleviate the
problem.
5. You should also consider oppostion to your proposal, your facts, etc.
6. Think about what interests groups have the power to act on your solution.
7. Use citations to support points and discuss quotations fully.
8. Provide documentation parenthetically in the text in MLA Works Cited format.

9. The paper should also include citations from at least five sources which are
taken from at least two forums, Newsgroups, the web, the library, etc.
