Discrimination by the government

And indeed, it is a clash. Transsexuals are discriminated against by our very own law enforcement. The Supreme Court decided on Jan. 12 to hear a transsexual prisoner's court case. Dee Farmer, who was a male to female transgender was put into an all male Federal penitentiary after already having breast implant surgery. Dee Farmer was then raped. Farmer was suing the prison officials for violating her constitutional right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment. Deputy Solicitor General Paul Bender stated that all transgenders are at risk for being raped but that's not his problem, it's their own. Bender also spoke to Farmer as "he" and realizing that Farmer was HIV+, used it against her. This is just one of many examples of the discrimination against transsexuals in our society.
