Task 1Our first task today is to talk about sources and critical reading. We'll break into groups in a minute but first, I'd like you all to get a sense of the subject matter by browsing through information about the Cyberporn controversy.
After about ten minutes, we'll get into groups and discuss the controversy and issues of using sources. In your papers it is crucial that you use sources intelligently and responsibly. This means evaluating them critically, the focus of our in class exercise.
Next, we'll continue working on our second project, a 4-5 page research argument. Remember that a draft of the paper is due this friday by 12:00 pm. You can turn the drafts in on paper, but always save a copy of your work on a disk as well. You can either turn the papers in during class on thursday or put them in my mailbox in FAC 8 by 12:00 on friday. No final papers will be accepted unless a draft of them is recieved by the friday deadline.
For today, I'd like you to list the sources that you are using so far. Eventually you'll need a formal works cited page in your paper, but for now you can either paste the list that you have into the form below and send it to me, or type in a brief note about each of your sources.
Otherwise, continue working on the paper and if you have any questions, you can type them into the form as well.
