On September the 12th the class learned how to use the hypercard stack. We began by turning in the summaries we had as homework. The method is as follows.

  1. First you need to open up your summaries typed up in Daedalus Write.
  2. Choose the Edit menu option of "Select All", this should highlight your document.
  3. Choose from the same Edit menu the "Copy" command, this will copy your document into a clipboard.
The next step is to start the Hypercard stack.

  1. In order to use the hypercard stack, the user has to start it by double clicking on the "Classroom" volume icon.
  2. Then open the "teacher" folder, by double clicking on it.
  3. Then open the "Anderson" folder, by double clicking on it.
  4. Next, click on the "article summaries" folder. You will have to be patient, since opening up the hypercard stack is slow.
  5. After the application has opened, find your name (it will be underlined).
  6. Click on your name ONLY ONCE, then wait for a couple of minutes and it should link you to a new page, with your name on it.
  7. Paste the summaries you created, into the card field.
After you have pasted your application go ahead and quit the hypercard stack. You can view a selected number of summaries at Summaries.

In the second half of class the Toulmin Method was discussed. The discussion included class participation in which some examples were discussed to clarify the method. To see the examples discussed in class you can click on Examples.
