Morning Stillness a Tweet Poem

My Twitter Video will be composed as a literary work. I will create an artistic performance related to nature by using a poem I wrote. I aim to have my video portray the aesthetics and complacency of nature, and ultimately entertain and engage others by doing so. When I wrote the poem, I tried to include a sense of nostalgia that I felt for an arboretum back at home in New Jersey. Hopefully, I can effectively portray this sense of nostalgia within my Twitter Video as well.

I have compiled some video clips over time on Tumblr that I plan to use for this project. I will also search for videos on YouTube (such as flowers blooming, walking through botanical gardens, trees swaying in the wind, etc.) I have also compiled lots of images of natural scenes on Tumblr as well as several impressionist paintings that I plan to incorporate. I’m thinking of having a combination of both images and video clips throughout my video.

I plan to use some ideas from the video on the class website titled “Slow Combers A Tweet Poem.” Therefore, I plan to record live tweets for each line of the poem. I anticipate this to work very efficiently, since each line will easily fit the 140 character limit for tweets. I am not sure yet whether I want to have simultaneous displays of images, tweets, and videos as is shown in “Slow Combers.” I may have a live tweet with an image in the background, and then transition to a montage of video clips between each tweet.

Some other videos I plan to look to in order to create a nostalgic feel:

I like this video especially since it incorporates a montage of pictures and video clips within the entire music video, which also includes numerous ones relating to nature.

Exploring this topic will hopefully unveil to me and others of the components of nature which may exist outside of areas we are familiar with. Perhaps I can include pictures from places all over the world which could create a greater feeling for natural beauty aside from the descriptions in my poem. By incorporating nostalgia into the poem, I could potentially include clips and images which solely evoke this emotion while also following the theme of natural aesthetics.

I’m concerned as to whether all of the videos and clips will connect together with the poem and also the themes of nature and nostalgia. Thus, I will have to painstakingly compile pictures and video clips and determine if they all fit this central theme.
