Twitter Video Proposal (Memes)

Twitter Proposal

The first project that will be created for this class will be a "Twitter Video." This video will be an attempt to inform the audience of the impact that stems from the use of internet memes. The video will be an informative and entertaining piece that will make use of little to no narration and instead incorporate the use of on screen text, pictures, and video in order to relay the message across to the audience. Multiple different social media sites will be used within the presentation including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, Google and more.

The example Hamlet video that was given on the class networking site was somewhat similar to what the goal of this video is trying to achieve. However this video will not only use twitter but multiple sites such as Facebook or Google. The google search bar, the Facebook status update, and the Twitter tweet feed will be used as a medium for relaying information to the audience so they have a better comprehension of what the video message is trying to relay.

Internet memes are in abundance at the moment and are currently being used across all social media sites. They are used for many reasons such as marketing, promotion, or just simple entertainment. This video will attempt to show the how easy memes are created and how easy a simple idea can spread and reach millions and millions of people within hours. Memes are very entertaining and the project will attempt to show the audience how a simple picture can be so influencing. Examples would be the Oreo super bowl meme, planking, the socially awkward penguin, etc.

Materials for the project are all on located on the internet. Facebook statuses will be created live as well as tweets and possibly Reddit posts. The biggest issue with this will be trying to find old examples quickly across the multiple social media sites. Newer memes or jokes that are put forth within the next few days may be used as examples because of these issues.
