E 309M Computers and Writing
The purpose of the web review journal is to provide useful
resources for people interested in our topics and to help us
understand the process of evaluation that is necessary when
we make use of various resources. It follows that you will
want to establish some criteria for your issue of the
review. The criteria will enable you to both decide what
kind of resources you will be seeking and whether or not the
ones you find meet your expectations for usefulness.
- You might begin you stints editors, then, by selecting some
topics for your issue, and deciding on criteria for sites or
articles.
- next you'll probably want to collect a series of Bookmarks
for sites that you find while browsing. You can also mail
the addresses to the other members your group so that they
can check them out.
- You'll then need to meet to determine which sites you will
recommend and to write a brief description of the sites that
you choose.
- Finally, you'll need to build the pages for your issue
inside the Teacher Folder and let me know when you are
finished so that I can link them to the site.
You can divide these tasks up in any way which suits you or
you can all work on every aspect. It will be useful if you
work together initially to determine your criteria so that
you are all on the same wavelength. Most of your work can
be accomplished through e-mail, but again, the way you work
it out is up to you. The deadlines for publishing the issues
are
Issue 1 Sept. 28
issue 2 October 19
Issue 3 November 9
Issue 4 November 30
There is no minimum for the number of sites or articles that
you review, but you must provide a brief description of each
site that you do use. You also might think about describing
your criteria somewhere in the issue and organizing things
around your topics. You can choose whatever topics you like,
but they should be relevant to this course. god Luck. let me
know if you have problems.
